meals and meals at Resto-Entre for our clients.<br\/>This person will play a key role in developing our food offerings, while overseeing daily kitchen operations and collaborating with our team of volunteers and the assistant chef.<\/p><p><strong>$25\/hour salary<\/strong><\/p><h4><strong>Main Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h4><p><strong>Meal Planning and Preparation<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Develop varied, balanced menus tailored to the needs of seniors and people with reduced independence.<\/li><li>Production of frozen meals for sale and home delivery.<\/li><li>Prepare lunches (every Friday) and dinners according to customer needs.<\/li><li>Ensure the quality, freshness, and nutritional value of meals.<\/li><li>Perform or delegate the packaging, labeling, and order fulfillment for delivery.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Supply Chain Management<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Place food orders and track inventory.<\/li><li>Build relationships with suppliers and seek out the best value-for-money options.<\/li><li>Monitor inventory and reduce food waste.<\/li><li>Verify that the received shipments are in compliance.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Supervision and Collaboration<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Welcome, support, and supervise volunteers working in the kitchen.<\/li><li>Organize daily tasks effectively.<\/li><li>Ensure that best practices for work safety and food safety are followed.<\/li><li>Work with volunteer delivery drivers to ensure efficient meal distribution.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Food Safety and Security<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Comply with and ensure compliance with MAPAQ standards.<\/li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment.<\/li><li>Ensure that kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operates correctly.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Support for the Community Mission<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Help organize special meals and community events.<\/li><li>Contribute to the development of new food initiatives.<\/li><li>Actively contribute to promoting the mission of Entraide Plus.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>Desired Qualifications<\/strong><\/h4><p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>A DEP in professional culinary arts or equivalent experience.<\/li><li>At least three (3) years of relevant experience in commercial, institutional, or community kitchens.<\/li><li>MAPAQ certification in food hygiene and safety, or a commitment to obtain it promptly.<\/li><li>Experience supervising staff or volunteers (a plus).<\/li><li>Good understanding of the nutritional needs of older adults (a significant asset).<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Skills<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Inspiring leadership.<\/li><li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.<\/li><li>Independence and resourcefulness.<\/li><li>Diligence and a commitment to quality.<\/li><li>Team spirit and interpersonal skills.<\/li><li>Awareness of the community\u2019s mission and the realities faced by family caregivers and older adults.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Ability to work while standing for long periods of time.<\/li><li><strong>Ability to lift, move, and handle loads weighing up to 50 lb (22.7 kg).<\/strong><\/li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Working Conditions<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Mainly
