The Entraide Plus Community Center is proud to announce that it has been named the 2026 recipient of the “Au cœur de votre collectivité” program from Promutuel Assurance du St-Laurent aux Appalaches. This recognition comes with a $25,000 grant to support its project, “When a Better-Equipped Community Kitchen Changes the Life of a Community.”
An Investment at the Heart of the Mission
This generous contribution will enable the organization to modernize and better equip its community kitchen, the true heart and soul of the center. It is from this kitchen that Resto-Entre’s meals are prepared each day, along with frozen dishes—available for takeout or home delivery—that nourish and comfort members throughout the year.
Over the past year, Entraide Plus has served more than 12,000 meals, a 175% increase over five years. A better-equipped kitchen will make it possible to meet this growing demand, increase the efficiency of the staff and volunteers, and provide an even more accessible service to seniors and caregivers in the region.
“Against all odds, I learned—just before leaving on vacation—that we had been selected as winners for our project to better equip the community kitchen, with a grant of $25,000! This is invaluable support for this project, which is estimated to cost $67,000. A big THANK YOU to Promutuel Insurance of St-Laurent aux Appalaches,” said Sylvie Blanchard, executive director of the L’Entraide Plus Community Center.
A program that supports communities
The “At the Heart of Your Community” program from Promutuel Assurance du St-Laurent aux Appalaches aims to support projects that bring people together, led by organizations working to improve the well-being of their communities. The mutual insurance company’s insured members are invited to submit and vote for the projects that are important to them.
