I’m Sylvie Lemieux, daughter of Nicole Gamache Lemieux, a user of your excellent Entraide Plus services.
My mother is 89, and I’m trying to keep her at home as long as possible, despite her cognitive condition. That’s what she wants.
Among other things, thanks to you, I’m able to buy her frozen meals, which she loves. It makes me feel better, since she doesn’t cook anymore.
The purpose of this e-mail is to point out that, through a referral from social worker Caroline Bourgault of CLSC Richelieu, I had the good fortune to meet the VERY DEAR Isabelle Poliquin. I’ve met her nearly four times so far. SHE’S SIMPLY EXTRAORDINARY.
She helps me to better understand my mother’s condition and to recognize all the collateral situations associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Isabelle, with her incredible simplicity and natural interpersonal skills, put me at ease from our very first phone call. For me, she’s much more than a psychosocial counsellor: she’s a confidante, a psychologist, a counsellor – and above all, she constantly reassures me. She gives me advice I’d never have thought of. It’s thanks to her that I’m able to move forward with this challenge, and above all that she gives me the mental energy to continue to do everything for my mother. She offers me extraordinary options and informs me about all the services available for my mother.
I’m sure I’m not the first person to tell you about Isabelle in this way, but you should know that when I leave her office, I feel lighter and much less stressed. I spend hours thinking about her and thanking her (I don’t know who!) for those wonderful discussions. She’s like a benevolent angel.
In short, congratulations and a huge thank you to your entire team. Continue to be proud of the work you do.
