I discovered Entraide Plus with my husband. He needed to get out and see people. That’s how we signed up for the mandala class. We would color them and then frame them.
That’s how we met the group. There were between 5 and 6 of us. It was a bonding experience, and I’ve kept in touch with them ever since.
On Mondays and Thursdays, and sometimes on Wednesdays too, we’d come to the Resto-Entre. Sometimes we went on outings with Hélène for different activities. We’d take the bus for little excursions that I wouldn’t have done, because I don’t have a car.
Then my husband died. Entraide Plus gave me a lot of support when he was gone. You know, after 40 years of marriage, it wasn’t easy.
Coming to Entraide Plus is a nice change of pace, you get out of the house and the change feels good. Morale is better.
I do some sewing for the center, whether it’s alterations if someone needs it, or even making curtains as a service, of course.
There was dancing once a week on Thursdays. That’s when I met my new partner.
I’ve been coming to the drop-in center every week since the service started up again. We do activities linked to the theme of the season. Right now it’s Easter.
When Patricia called me about the collection “Les Gardiens de la Mémoire”, I was surprised and moved. I felt that someone was interested in me. It’s important to feel important. So, thank you Entraide Plus.
